Fett's Helmet
Building the helmet
Building the armour, is probably one of the coolset things you do when you go ahead and put together something like this, its a one of a kind experience. seeing the helmet come together was really, really cool. i had to use two different pepakura files, with the pepakure veiwer app on my computer. this is pretty much a file veiwer, that veiws 3D models that other can design with the pepakura designer. i used two different files for this, just due to the fact that the head mold for this model was meant to be for cardboard, so i got one that was easier to shape with cardstock paper, which is what i used to make it. i only have a few, low quality photos since i did this quite a while ago, i hope this helps some people!

Resining The Helmet
The Resining of the Helmet can be one of the most frustrating parts of the armour, but ounce your done, you are very pleased. Fiberglass Resin and bondo arent cheap. to resin this, i DID NOT use fiberglass mat, i deel i didnt need it. It came out farely strong, i have had a couple cracks, but im sure those are heat cracks, that i can easily fix. Be sure not to over heat your resin while drieing or this will happen to you. You can kind of see that the helmet is a bit wonky at the rear left of the head (looking at it from the front) i will be able to fix this in the bondo phase. The brand of resin i used was offical bondo brand resin, it didnt cost too much, about $25, this is the most expensive part of you armour. Enjoy!
Bondoing
Bondoing the helmet can save your mistakes. think of bondoing as the finishing touches, the smoothing. As you can see in my photo's, i did put quite a bit on mine, but that was because i had a large imperfection at the back of my helmet. if you helmet is fairly good, and only needs smoothing, use thin layers of bondo, you can use as many layers as you need. i also used bondo brand for this part. Remeber this is to smooth and take out any inperfection, also think of it as getting ready for painting. i hope this helps, enjoy!

Sanding
Sanding is probably the most arm tiring part of your armour. It is smoothing out that layer of bondo you just put on it. I am still working on this stage, but am getting close to being done. i will have an update the second im done it. I had to take the antena off because it was just getting smacked while i was sanding, i will have to make a new on and install it after. You can use certain sanding papers for more precise smooth finishes.
